The Amarillo Area Association of Mental Health Professionals was founded in the 1980s as the Mental Health Network by several professions including Fred Hill, Dr. Joyce O'Rear and Sylvia McTeague.
WHAT WE DO
Each meeting features a guest speaker. By attending at least 9 of the 12 annual meetings, members acquire 9 Continuing Education credits, including 3 ethics hours.
AAAMHP welcomes all professionals working in mental health and wellness, students and anyone interesting in learning more about the field of mental health.
At AAAMHP, we are dedicated to continuing the education of all members. Our monthly speakers come from all areas of mental health work. From program overviews to latest on practice and policy, each speaker offers valuable insight and information.
The Annual Fall Conference brings in speakers to provide in depth education on the latest in understanding and treatment. This one day conference is both an excellent learning opportunity and supports AAAMHP's scholarship program
AAAMHP believes in supporting those students who are coming into our professional field. Graduate candidates in Psychology, Social Work or Counseling are encouraged to apply for scholarships awarded for both fall and spring semesters.
